to find out about all of the relevant events that are taking place in Scotland over the next few weeks.

Why did you create this site?
There are well established means by which people can find out about or promote indie, dance, metal, traditional, etc., music in Scotland. But what about all of the music that resists classification, that comes from a set
of traditions that are not so widely shared, or which is just plain weird? This website brings together all of the people in Scotland who spend
their time making, listening to, promoting, selling, teaching, and
inquiring about this music that doesn't quite fit anywhere else.
What do you mean by 'marginal'?
Although Update tries to avoid explicit definitions, the following approaches are examples of the kind thing we're talking about:
ambient, breakcore, contemporary classical, dark ambient, doom, drone, electro-acoustic composition, electronica, experimental,
free improvisation, free jazz, IDM, improv, math rock, minimalism, new weird folk, noise, post rock, power electronics, punk-primitive,
sound art, etc.
