North East Scotland's festival of new music presents an eclectic and broad range of new music in Aberdeen City and Shire. In 2008 it will take place from 21st October to 17th November.

Experimental music-image/ film-sound festival exploring the many possible relationships between what you see and what you hear, (involving blindfolds, indoor rain, empty samplers drawing with charcoal, set theory, lettrists and meteorological balloons, filmic riddles, the Tay bridge...)

d i a l o g u e s ran its first festival in 1999 in order to fill an aching gap in Edinburgh's experimental music scene. The gap is still there but each year, we plug it with performances by experimental musicians from the UK and Europe and from performers on our doorstep
Sonic Fusion

The principal aim of the Sonic Fusion Festival is to bring together a diverse array of the NEW from international contemporary music, on a world-wide basis. It will consist of concert performances, electronic audio, and audio-visual installations as well as many educational events (including performance, composition and workshop activities for children; and masterclasses, demonstrations and informal pre-concert talks being of more general public interest). It will consistently seek to challenge preconceptions, whilst at the same time guaranteeing the delivery of world-class musical art.
Three Blows
A weekend of all-sound acoustic performance by contemporary visual artists and musicians, set in the unique space of St. Cecilia's Hall in Edinburgh. The event will showcase a wide range of innovative acoustic compositions, including unaccompanied singing, non-amplified improvisation and interactive mechanical music contraptions.

We've hooked up with nearly 50 of the most original, essential and legendary musicians (folk, free jazz, noise or improvisation) of the last 50 years, as well as visual artists, conceptual poets and radical thinkers and asked them what it is that really inspires them, what's right at the core of what they do?
Stirling
Le Weekend
Annual experimental music event held at the Tollbooth in Stirling and is the longest running experimental music festival in Scotland. This year's festival had a wonderful feel to it, with performances in the Tolbooth but also in some new spaces like the beautiful grandeur of the Church of the Holy Rude and the stark concrete of the Craig's underpass.
