Events Guide

What is the Update Events Guide?

The Update events guide is the most comprehensive listing the of marginal, weird and experimental music events that take place in Scotland. The guide includes performances, festivals, sound art installations, site specific events, record launches, club nights, industry/funding events, and anything else that falls within Update's remit. You can see an example of the guide here.

Where is it?

You can receive the events guide immediately by signing up here. All you need to give us is an email address. Once you have signed up, the guide will be sent to you automatically. It will be updated and emailed to you every 2-4 weeks.

Why can't you just post the list here?

Good question. The short answer is - because we want to know who you are, so that we can keep in touch. We've put a lot of unpaid effort into the site in general and into the events guide in particular. The only way to gather all of the information has been to trawl many websites, myspace pages, general gig listings, magazines and any other sources we can find. Frankly, it's a bit of a chore (especially the bits involving myspace), albeit one with pleasing results. We'd appreciate it if you recognised our efforts by allowing us to make contact with you. In addition, we'll hopefully be putting on some events of our own in the future and we thought you might like to know about them.

Can you add my events to the list?

Yes, as long as it falls within Update's remit. If you would like to submit an event please use our email form. If you email us with details of an event then we will assume that you wish to be added to the update mailing list. If you do not wish to be added to the list, please let us know. If you are unsure whether your event is appropriate, please email us via the email form and we'll let you know.

If you have any questions about the events guide, please email us.
