Dialogues

Edinburgh's only annual festival of electronic music. Dialogues brings together artists working in different ways and in different contexts. The festival also aims to take electronic music into diverse spaces - previous years have featured a video event on a bus, while in 2006 Dialogues took place in various Edinburgh venues including Inverleith House in the Botanic Gardens.

Miso presents a wide variety of electronic artists of the highest calibre on the first Saturday of every month in Glasgow. Previous visitors have included Venetian Snares, To Rococo Rot, Tape, Marcia Blaine School For Girls, Frog Pocket, Greg Davis, etc, etc. Miso also have a radio show on www.radiomagnetic.com every Tuesday 3pm - 4.30pm.

Promoter, label and mail order based in Edinburgh. Live shows feature a mixture of local artists and established international acts making electronic, experimental and post-rock music. Past gigs have featured bands such as Guapo, Venetian Snares, Khanate and Sunburned Hand of the Man.

Nuts and Seeds promote independent music in Glasgow. We have been in existence in one form or another since 2002 putting on gigs for bands touring the UK. All the money made on the door going to covering costs and paying the bands and consequently there are no guestlists. Every effort is made to keep music inclusive, cheap, anti-elitist and fun.

Scottish Music Centre

The Scottish Music Centre is a one-stop shop for information for anyone interested in music and is home to an enormous archive of nearly 30,000 items, ranging from copies of 18th Century song-sheets and Scottish contemporary classical scores to the latest CD releases from traditional, rock, jazz and indie bands. Visitors to the Centre can also use computers with a range of the latest music software, including Sibelius 4 and Garageband, and read a variety of specialist music publications, directories and magazines relevant to all musical styles and interests.
